EAS Local Area Emergency

This important message is being released by the Columbia County Emergency Management Agency. Columbia County is experiencing major stream and creek flooding. Evacuated persons can go to a Red Cross Shelter established at the Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School located at 5th and Market Streets in Bloomsburg. Persons using the shelter should bring medications and personal care items. If possible other Columbia County residents should refrain from traveling as many roadways throughout the county are flooded. Don't add to problems by traveling through flooded areas putting yourself and emergency personnel in danger. Also be advised the Columbia County Emergency Management Agency is experiencing a telephone outage. To contact county EMA call 527-5979 or 527-5980. This telephone outage does not affect 911 emergency service.
